If your brain needs a dangerous substance in order for you to feel normal, you have developed a dependency on that substance. Addiction causes complex changes in brain chemistry. These changes destroy judgment, cognition, relationships, creativity, and self-image. Addiction to drugs and alcohol causes a slew of health and interpersonal problems. It also decreases life expectancy. Thousands of people die from overdoses in Florida each year.

What is Medication-Assisted Treatment?

Medication-assisted treatment allows our patients to be treated with the medications they need to support their recovery. Helping our patients get stable and manage their medications can help them take back control of their lives and move forward in recovery. The addiction treatment programs we offer at Archstone provide patients with the tools, approaches, and support system that Florida addiction recovery demands. Our team of therapists and community partners will be there for you every step of the way. If your addiction is preventing you from living your best life, the following programs are available to help you:

Archstone Behavioral Health’s Addiction Treatment Programs

Many of our patients begin their Archstone recovery experience in our medical detox program. This inpatient model provides safety, structure, and support in the early days of recovery. Formidable withdrawal symptoms during detox from drugs and alcohol can discourage people from getting sober, but an experienced medical team and around-the-clock support can give you the comfort and support you need. After detox, Archstone’s medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program can help people manage cravings and continue on their path to recovery.

What is a Partial Hospitalization Program?

Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) allows patients to practice life skills while still receiving Archstone’s community support. During a partial hospitalization program, clinicians will monitor your vital signs and implement evidence-based treatment approaches to help you recover from addiction. Our treatment team has the experience and temperaments to serve as therapists and mentors for our patients. We’ve designed our evidence-based addiction treatment programs around models that work. Our approach to addiction recovery is practical, life-affirming, and community-oriented. These are some of the programs we offer at Archstone:

  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy
  • Dialectical behavior therapy
  • Medication management
  • Trauma-focused counseling
  • Family and marital counseling

Can Swimming and Yoga Help You Get Sober?

We offer a number of holistic therapies to help treat your body, mind, and spirit together. Holistic therapies have few–if any–side effects and have the added benefit of promoting physical activity and mindfulness. Some common holistic therapies include yoga, pilates, and meditation.

Changing Thoughts, Changing Actions

At Archstone, you will learn how to recognize and alter negative thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We believe that changing our actions begins with changing our thoughts. Another important part of a good addiction treatment program is learning to cope with the triggers and cravings experienced by people in all stages of recovery. It may seem impossible, but if you have the desire to overcome your addiction, we can offer the tools you’re missing. Archstone Behavioral Health’s alumni program will help keep you motivated, engaged, and connected after you finish treatment.
