Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

What is a Partial Hospitalization Program?

Our Partial Hospitalization Program, or PHP, is for individuals that have completed the residential program and know that they still need help on the road to recovery, or for those individuals that, for whatever reason, be it personal or professional, need to be seen on an outpatient basis.

Benefits of a PHP

The most obvious benefit of being in a Partial Hospitalization Program is that you have the ability to leave and go home at night. For some people with children or other family members that they look after, or for some in a professional position, this is the best way to balance both worlds. Our clients that use the PHP model recognize that they are still in need of treatment but they have the luxury of being in their home at night.

Additionally, this is a more comprehensive program that provides full-day services once insurance has stopped covering the residential level of care. Patients can stay at a local sober living facility while attending our PHP services to get the high level of care they need, even if their insurance no longer covers a residential level of care.

A Partial Hospitalization Program may be good for clients that have faced a relapse but don’t need the intensity of a residential program. A PHP offers some flexibility for our clients that our Residential Program does not.

What Does Our PHP Offer?

Our Partial Hospitalization Program consists of clients entering treatment for 6 to 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Clients in a PHP participate in a comprehensive recovery program in which they work closely with many different treatment professionals, including doctors, nurses, social workers, therapists, and psychiatrists.

They will attend individual therapy sessions and group therapy with our highly trained staff. In addition, they will be working on building up the life skills necessary for a quality after-treatment program that will give them the best odds at achieving lasting recovery.

Length of Treatment

The length of treatment will depend on many factors. One is individualized needs. Sometimes a person that has already been through a Residential Program or that has just suffered a relapse won’t need the same length of treatment as someone that has just exited a detox program and cannot attend a residential program but need more than an Intensive Outpatient Program.

Another factor can be a client’s insurance provider and what they cover. That is why it is important for potential clients to contact our Insurance Specialist for prior authorization.
